Having trouble with your PC? That moment when it crashes out of nowhere and makes you frustrated cause you were working on something and you fail to save it and you might think that you may need to buy a new hardware. Well here are some troubleshooting that might help you.

*Check all cables and plugs (inside and outside of your CPU) if they are properly connected and in their proper place.
-------------------

Problem#1: Monitor says "No signal" but has power and CPU is running or the power indicator of the monitor is just blinking. then its either your RAM or Videocard is defective.

Solution #1: Unplug your RAM and check if the teeth of your RAM has black lines. Use an eraser from a pencil and clean that black lines and replug the RAM.

Solution #2: Unplug your Videocard and connect the output cable of your monitor into the motherboard port.

if this doesn't solve your problem then try connecting your monitor into another CPU and try replacing the cable.
----------------

Problem#2: BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!

Well hopefully after the blue screen of death appears, it just restarts your PC and normally reboots back to your OS. but most of the time it corrupts your OS or even your hard disk.

Solution #1: Unplug your RAM and insert it in another slot. Unplug your SATA or IDE cable of your hard disk into another slot.

Solution #2: Try unplugging some of your hardware that you don't usually use. (ex. dvd-rom or cd-rom, floppy disk, extra fan) and those webcams or speakers that you use via usb.

if this doesn't work then sadly you have to use Solution #3.

Solution #3: Reformat your hard drive and reinstall a fresh OS

-----------------------

Problem #3: Your PC freezes. (Randomly)

Solution #1: Try using your CPU with an open case on its side. cause sometimes it just freezes due to overheat.
Repluging your RAM and the cables of your hard disk into different slots and unplug hardwares that you don't usually use (ex. dvd-rom or cd-rom, floppy disks, extra fan, webcams and speaker that uses usb cable)

but if your PC freezes at a certain point then the program or application that your using when it freezes might be corrupted so you need to reinstall that program or never use it again.

--------------------

Well thats all the problem and the most common troubleshooting thats on top of my head. but if you guys got questions regarding this simple guide or anything relating to troubleshooting desktop (hardware or software). feel free to ask me. smile

Its my pleasure sir. about your question. It depends on your OS. if your using windows 7, its recommended to use 2gb RAM. 1gb RAM is also ok but thats kind of laggy when you're multi-tasking or using multiple programs and apps.

and about sa laptop. masyadong mahirap and troublesome yan. but there's a guide in youtube depending on the model and brand of the laptop. smile

Well it depends on the RAM Module of the specific desktop and laptop. You can Look at the label on your laptop RAM, which should contain information including the pin count of the module, the voltage and a code beginning with for example "DDR2."

umm sir PC DRIVE? you mean dvd rom right? well if it can't read its either you need to install its drivers. check if the cable is properly connected and check if your dvd rom is appearing in your "My computer" or its defective. you need to buy a new one sadly.
